DD Buyers Reviews - What Customers Say About Selling Gold, Diamonds, Watches and Coins in NYC

Real Reviews From People Who Sold to Us in the Diamond District

Every review on this page was written by a customer on Google, where we cannot edit, filter or delete it. We show them here because the first thing a sensible person does before carrying gold or a Rolex into a Midtown office is read what happened to the last person who did. That is exactly what we would do. DD Buyers has been buying gold, diamonds, watches, coins and jewelry at our Manhattan office at 55 West 47th Street, Suite 203A, and the reviews below are the record of how those visits went.

If you want to read them at the source, open our Google listing and scroll. If you have sold to us and have not left a review yet, there is a link at the bottom of this page. We read every one, including the critical ones, and we reply to all of them.

Reviews by Service

Customers tend to mention the specific thing they sold, so we have grouped a few recent reviews by service. Each quote is reproduced exactly as it appears on Google, with the reviewer’s first name and the month it was posted. Click any review to open it on Google.

Selling gold

Gold is the most common reason people walk through our door, and the most common thing reviewers mention is watching the test and the weighing happen in front of them. Our cash for gold page explains how the price is built from the live London Fix, purity and weight; the reviews below are what that looks like from the customer’s side of the desk.

Selling a Rolex or luxury watch

Watch sellers are, understandably, the most cautious customers we meet. They have usually had a lowball quote somewhere else first. Our Rolex and luxury watch buyers verify the reference and serial, inspect the movement and explain the offer before anyone is asked to decide.

Selling an engagement ring or diamond

Many of these reviews come from people closing a difficult chapter, and the thing they mention most is being treated with respect and without questions. Our engagement ring and diamond buyers grade every stone in front of the customer, and the reviews reflect that.

Selling coins and silver

Coin and silver sellers often arrive with a jar, a bag or an inherited binder and no idea what is in it. Our coin buyers sort it with them, and the sorting is usually what gets mentioned.

Mail-in sellers from outside New York

Customers from elsewhere in New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and across the country use the free mail-in appraisal kit. Their reviews tend to mention the insured label, the phone call with the offer, and how quickly payment arrived.

Estates and executors

Executors and family members clearing a Manhattan apartment usually review the itemized receipt and the fact that everything was handled in one visit.

03

How DD Buyers Earns These Reviews

There is nothing clever about it. A customer leaves a good review when the visit went the way they hoped, and a visit goes well when the buyer does six things consistently. We put them in writing here so you can hold us to them.

  • The appraisal happens in front of you. Gold is tested and weighed on a scale you can read. Diamonds are graded under a lamp you can see. Watches are opened at the desk, not taken into a back room.
  • The offer is explained. You are told the spot price, the purity, the weight, the grade or the reference number the number was built from. If you do not understand part of it, ask, and we will go through it again.
  • There is no pressure. An offer declined is not an argument. You take your items home, and the offer stands if you come back.
  • Payment is immediate. Cash or card, with a written itemized receipt, before you leave the office.
  • Your ID is recorded, as New York law requires of every precious-metal and secondhand-jewelry buyer. This protects you as well as us, and we will never skip it.
  • We are here seven days a week, 10 AM to 6 PM, in a private second-floor office at Suite 203A, so nobody has to sell on a lunch break or at a street counter.

Is DD Buyers Legit? The Facts You Can Check Yourself

“Is DD Buyers legit?” is a fair question to ask about any buyer on 47th Street, and the right way to answer it is with things you can verify rather than things we say. Here is what you can check in five minutes before you visit.

  • Our address is 55 West 47th Street, Suite 203A, New York, NY 10036. It is a real suite in a real building; you can see it on Google Maps Street View and in the photos on our Google listing.
  • Our phone number is (646) 693-0365. Call it. A person at the office answers during business hours.
  • Our Google reviews are public and unedited. Read the critical ones as well as the good ones, and read our replies.
  • We operate as a precious-metal and secondhand-jewelry buyer in New York City and record seller identification on every transaction, as the law requires.
  • We provide a written, itemized receipt on every purchase, which you can take to any other buyer on the block to compare.

If anything in that list does not check out when you look, do not sell to us. The same test applies to every other buyer in the Diamond District.

How to Check Any Diamond District Buyer Before You Sell

We would rather you sell to us, but we would rather you sold safely to someone else than badly to anyone. These are the six checks we tell friends and family to run on any gold, diamond or watch buyer in Manhattan.

  • Reviews on more than one platform. A buyer with a hundred five-star reviews on one site and nothing anywhere else deserves a second look. Check Google, Yelp and the Better Business Bureau.
  • An office, not a street booth. Street-level exchanges and the runners who steer you into them survive on volume, not on repeat customers. A buyer with a suite number and a lease has a reputation to keep.
  • The scale and the test in your sight. If the gold leaves the room to be weighed, leave with it.
  • A written receipt before you are paid. It should list each item, the weight or grade, and the price. No receipt, no sale.
  • ID required. A buyer who does not ask for identification is not following New York law, and that tells you how they handle everything else.
  • No pressure and no “today only” offers. Metal prices move daily, but a fair buyer will quote again tomorrow. Anyone who says the price disappears when you walk out is telling you the price was never real.

06

If Something Goes Wrong

No business gets every visit right, and a reviews page that pretends otherwise is not worth reading. If you had a problem at DD Buyers, we want to hear it directly first: call (646) 693-0365 and ask for the manager, or use the contact page. Most issues are resolved on the same call. If you prefer to post publicly, that is your right, and we reply to every review on Google, including the ones that sting. What you will not find from us is a legal threat over a review, a fake positive review to bury a negative one, or a reply that argues with the customer in public.

How to Leave a Review

If you sold to us, two minutes of your time helps the next person decide where to go. Scan the code below or tap the button, sign in to Google, and write what happened. You do not need to mention the price you received, but it helps other sellers if you say what you sold and how the appraisal was handled. We do not ask for five stars; we ask for an honest account.

09

How to Read Reviews of a Gold or Diamond Buyer Critically

Star counts are a starting point, not a verdict, and a few habits make them far more useful. Read the most recent twenty reviews rather than the average, because a buyer that was excellent five years ago and careless this year will still show a strong overall score. Look for detail: a review that says what was sold, roughly how the appraisal went and how payment was made was written by someone who was actually at the desk. Look for the business’s replies, and for how it handles the one- and two-star reviews in particular; a buyer that answers criticism calmly and offers to fix it is telling you how it will treat you if something goes wrong.

Be suspicious of the opposite pattern too. Twenty five-star reviews posted in the same week, reviewers with no other activity, and reviews that read like advertising copy are signs that the rating was bought rather than earned. The Diamond District has a few of those, and they are usually the same operations that work the sidewalk. A review history that has grown slowly over years, with the occasional complaint and a sensible reply, is worth more than a perfect score.

10

What Happens After You Sell

A visit does not end when the cash is counted. You leave with an itemized receipt that lists every piece, its weight or grade, and the price paid; keep it, because it is your record if a family member or an insurer ever asks. If you sold part of a collection and kept the rest, the appraisal notes stay on file so the next visit is faster. If you took a pawn loan instead of selling, your item is tagged, stored and photographed, and you receive the terms in writing.

Two things customers mention afterwards are worth repeating here. First, our referral reward: if someone you send to us sells, you receive ten percent of what we paid them. Second, our offer stands if you decline it and come back, subject only to movement in the metal and diamond markets, which we will show you on the day. Nobody is penalized for taking time to decide.

11

Why Reviews Matter More in the Diamond District Than Anywhere Else

On most streets in Manhattan a bad experience costs a business one customer. On 47th Street, where two thousand businesses share one block and most of them will make you an offer, a bad experience costs a buyer every future customer who reads about it. That is the single best protection a seller has here. Buyers who intend to be on this block in ten years cannot afford to lowball, to switch stones, or to lose a receipt, because every one of those things ends up in a review that the next hundred sellers will read.

It is also why we treat this page as part of the business rather than as marketing. The reviews are not ours. They belong to the customers who wrote them, and our only job is to keep earning the next one.

Is DD Buyers a legitimate gold and jewelry buyer?

DD Buyers operates from a private second-floor office at 55 West 47th Street, Suite 203A, in Manhattan’s Diamond District, answers (646) 693-0365 during business hours, appraises every item in front of the customer, issues a written itemized receipt, and records seller identification as New York law requires. All of this can be verified before you visit, and the Google reviews on this page are public and unedited.

What do customers say about DD Buyers most often?

The themes that come up most in our Google reviews are watching the appraisal happen in front of them, having the offer explained, being paid the same day, and the seven-day hours. Read the reviews grouped by service on this page, or open the full list on Google.

Does DD Buyers pay for reviews or remove negative reviews?

No. We do not pay for reviews, offer anything in exchange for reviews, or remove reviews. Google does not allow a business to delete reviews, and we would not if it did. We reply to every review, including critical ones, and we try to resolve any problem directly first.

Call (646) 693-0365 and ask for the manager, or write to us through the contact page. Most issues are resolved on the same call. You are also free to post a review on Google at any time; we read and reply to all of them.

How do I check whether a Diamond District buyer is trustworthy?

Check reviews on more than one platform, confirm the buyer has an office with a suite number rather than a street booth, make sure the scale and the test stay in your sight, insist on a written itemized receipt, expect to be asked for ID, and walk away from any “today only” offer. These six checks apply to DD Buyers and to every other buyer on 47th Street.

How can I leave a review for DD Buyers?

Scan the QR code on this page or use the “Review DD Buyers on Google” button, sign in to Google, and write what happened during your visit. It takes about two minutes. We ask for an honest account, not a particular star rating.
